Bio

Bahghi is a multifaceted Amsterdam-based artist, celebrated as a singer-songwriter, musician, and producer. Born and raised in an Eritrean household in Amsterdam, she embarked on her musical journey at the age of 4 as a classical violinist. Bahghi later delved into the realm of jazz, enrolling in the Jazz Vocal department at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, where she distinguished herself by graduating Cum Laude in 2018.

Intrigued by the rich tapestry of musical genres, Bahghi's childhood home exposed her to a diverse range of sounds, from European classical to African(-American) music and contemporary popular genres. Her musical evolution took a vibrant turn when she discovered jazz during her teenage years, leading her to embrace singing as a powerful form of expression.

Bahghi's artistic endeavours culminated in the release of her live debut album, "All One," on November 11th, 2022. Featuring collaborations with jazz luminaries Ronald Snijders and Rory Ronde, the album showcases Bahghi's ability to seamlessly blend soothing melodies with conscious and uplifting lyrics. Beyond her studio work, Bahghi has graced stages in various countries, in Europe, Asia and Africa, and performed at renowned venues such as Melkweg and Paradiso. Her musical journey also extends to notable festivals like Oerol 2022 and Popronde 2021, where her spirited performances continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
